Privacy Policy

blob · Last updated: September 2026

This policy explains what data the blob app collects, why it collects it, and what happens to it. We kept it short on purpose.

What we collect

Blob does not ask for your name, email address, or any other personal identifier. Authentication is done exclusively through Passkeys, which means we never store passwords and have no access to your credentials.

When you use the product scanning feature, images are processed entirely on your device using a machine learning model built into the app. Nothing is sent to an external server.

If you grant permission, the app accesses your device's location to associate air quality data with the area you're in. Location is not stored permanently and is not transmitted anywhere outside of your own iCloud account.

iCloud and sync

App data — scan history, preferences, results — can be synced through iCloud if you're signed in. That data lives in your iCloud account, not on our own servers. We have no access to what you store there.

Notifications

If you enable notifications, the app may send alerts related to air quality or other relevant information. We do not use notifications for marketing. You can turn them off at any time from your phone's settings.

Analytics and tracking

We do not include any third-party analytics or tracking SDKs. There are no ads in the app.

Children

The app is not intended for users under the age of 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from children.

Changes

If this policy changes in a meaningful way, we will update the date above and notify users in the app where appropriate.
